New insights into the phylogeny of Entamoeba species provided by analysis of four new small-subunit rRNA genes, by C. G. Clark, F. Kaffashian, B. Tawari, J. J. Windsor, A. Twigg-Flesner, M. C. G. Davies-Morel, J. Blessmann, F. Ebert, B. Peschel, A. Le Van, C. J. Jackson, L. Macfarlane and E. Tannich

International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology vol. 56, part 9, pp. 2235 - 2239

Supplementary Fig. S1. Entamoeba suis cysts from pigs in Vietnam. Cysts were concentrated using the formol-ether technique and subsequently stained with Lugol's iodine (A, B) or Trichrome (C, D) before photographing. The typical 'ring and dot' nucleus of Entamoeba species is visible in all cysts, while the cigar-shaped chromatoid bars are most clearly visible in (A) and (C). Bar, 10 µm. This is a colour version of Fig. 1 in the printed paper.
