Spiroplasma penaei sp. nov., associated with mortalities in Penaeus vannamei, Pacific white shrimp, by L. M. Nunan, D. V. Lightner, M. Oduori and G. E. Gasparich

In a reassessment of the Deformation Test in the serological studies it was determined that the SHRIMP strain had a cross-reactivity with strain M55 (I-6) antisera up to a titre of 1280, but the reciprocal cross using strain M55 with SHRIMP antisera reacted up to a titre of 320. The titre reading of 320 is within the range of cross-reactivity within the group I subgroups.
