Erratum

Alkalibacterium iburiense sp. nov., an obligate alkaliphile that reduces an indigo dye, by K. Nakajima, K. Hirota, Y. Nodasaka and I. Yumoto

International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology vol. 55, part 4, pp. 1525-1530

On pages 1525, 1527 and 1529, the peptidoglycan type is incorrect. It should be A4α, L-Lys-D-Asp. The purified peptidoglycan of strain M3T contained D-Asp, L-Lys, L-Glu and L-Ala at a molar ratio of 0.6:1:1:1.5.

On pages 1525 and 1529, the statement that strains M3T, 41A and 41C do not hydrolyze starch is incorrect. They do hydrolyse starch.
