ABSTRACT

We propose that the date of valid publication of the name Thermodesulfobacterium mobile Rozanova and Pivovarova should be considered the date in 1995 when Zeikus et al. validated the names of the genus Thermodesulfobacterium and its type species, Thermodesulfobacterium commune, and that the name of the organism described by Rozanova and Pivovarova, which is based on type strain VKM V-1128 (= DSM 1276), should be Thermodesulfobacterium thermophilum.
